Viña Memorias is a family boutique winery located in the Protected Designation of Origin Utiel-Requena; a privileged terroir located 70 km inland from the city of Valencia. It was founded in 2016 in the spirit of preserving their family heritage and re-writing the modern history of the wines of their Protected Designation. They charish a story rooted in the past, just as the over 65-year-old Bobal vines are rooted in the soils of calcareous clay. It is a story that chronicles the creation of unique wines from the singular Designation of Utiel-Requena, becoming the maximum expression of the land. The authors of Viña Memorias are passionate artisans. They patiently tend and prune their vines, hand-pick their grapes for harvest and carefully select which ones will become exceptional wines. Their dedication weaves together each and every element to create unique wines that are steeped in history and given a fresh interpretation. Their chief enologist and winemaker Diego Morcillo, named Best Spanish Winemaker 2018, is our storyteller. Dedicated to working with this special land and its old vines, he crafts wines that capture and express its very soul.
