A surprising set of ruins. A must see

This building has the museum that displays the history and has many wonderful items related to Madinat Al Zahra and its ruins. It also has clean bathrooms that are useful before and after taking the bus to the ruins. The cost to visit the museum includes access to the city ruins as well. The bus ride is about 10 minute long; there is no timing, The bus may show up in 10 minutes or 40 minutes depending on your luck. The staff members are helpful and dedicated; it looks like they also have a team of archaeologists; but it appears that they're not available to talk to visitors.

We had a very informative and enjoyable visit to Medinat al-Zahra as part of our trip to Cordoba.

It’s a slick modern building with beautiful artefacts and very well arranged . The entrance is free for the European Union citizens. To see the ruins you need to take the bus ( provided by the museum for 2.5 euros) and they are fantastic as well:) the only problem is the heat so take sun protection, hats and water.

This is a must if you love history. One of the 2 main reasons I visited Cordoba. Make sure you watch the video on the history of the site before you take the shuttle bus to it

Fascinating museum, almost worth a visit by itself. Really well done. Bilingual-Spanish and English. Give this an hour, at least, before heading out to the ruins.
