Terrible company, better avoid! Consumer support via phone is useless, cannot even guide if the brunch is open or not. Via phone or online you cannot extend your rental, you must come to the shutdown office

Do not rent from Goldcar At Girona airport, they are scammers. Only gave it one star cos I can’t give it zero. Truly awful service. I have rented many cars from Girona airport. This time I used Goldcar, The lady in front of us had booked a car for 3pm. No one was at the office at 3.005pm. The assistant arrived at 4.30pm and without any apology Then added a load of fees onto her prepaid costs. She was upset but had to accept as she was desperate to leave. My booking through Rentalcars was full to full fuel and all costs covered in the contract but the ignorant assistant (Mark) ordered us to pay for airport charges, half tank of fuel and other spurious charges, (130 euros) Not only was he unhelpful but he was deliberately rude and obstructive, smirking all the way through our encounter and was very pleased when his friend called him ‘el bandito.’ We walked away and booked a car with firefly. This was clearly an ongoing ruse by Goldcar to rip customers off. I spoke to a number of people at the airport who said he was always like that and they didn’t know how he got away with it.

I wish I have seen this before renting. Avoid Goldcar at all cost, there are hidden charges and the end it's more expensive than traditional rental agencies (extra airport charge, extra charge for going to France or Andorra). If you walk 300m just outside the airport there are nice rental companies which have no hidden charges. It seems a lot when you compare but in the end it is worth it. They did not want to take my credit card and said it did not work but it worked with Europcar. I am now fighting with edreams to get a refund for that booking because I had to book from another company. The lady who works at the office is quite nice but the guy is just so horrible and not helpful. My experience was my worst ever with a car rental company.

Worst service EVER! I feel betrayed! We’ve booked a car a day before a trip which cost us 20 for 48 hours. Once we got to the encounter, they have asked us for 60 more plus 69 in addition for gasoline! When we’ve asked for the additional prices, they told us that it all mentioned on their website and that we had to read “the small letters”. Thanks to them we’ve missed a tour guide planned for us! NEVER TRUST GOLDCAR!

I rent via Rentalcars at a good 225 the week rate. It was a prepaid rental. Arriving at the airport I was about to sign the contract and pick up the keys when I was asked if I plan to cross the border (Spain/France). I said yes and the employee informed me that in this case I had to pay an additional fee of 375. A real scam !!

Stop! Do NOT use this company. They literally steals money from clients. I rented a car for a week, without any accidents and problems, and they sent me a bill for 2000 euros for some scratches. Worst car rental ever.

The airport surcharge is not included, don’t trust what the telephone customer service says. Hire from them only if you want to get insurance with them. If not use somebody else.
