Love this little offset from the tourist bust and admire the bridge and design of a beautiful back street suburb. When the sun shines great to just relax and grab a drink

Excellent Madrid place to start your city walk around It has a lot of history
Found it by chance, on my way to visit the Royal Palace. Amazing bridge from below! And the walk over there is pleasant and picturesque.
I would have liked to rate it as 4.5 or 4.6 however a rating of 4 wouldn't do justice so it's '5'. This Bridge in old town Madrid deserves it. Take a walk down from Vicens Madrid store with a Turron Duro in your hand. Slight down left on Caile de Bailen and the bridge is right in front of you. In fact the bridge is intimately mixed in its surroundings it's right next to a couple of apartment buildings with people having a smoke from their balconies watching you taking pictures. It's close, it's intimate and it touches you. Going by age it's not as old a structure, build in 1940s however the arches are gorgeous. One or two pictures doesn't do justice so take many from different angles. As I understand the bridge was constructed to connect the people from the Latina section of Madrid to Madrid proper itself - it is certainly a unique gift to the people of Madrid. In any other cities like Paris, London, Rome it would have been called a Architecture Gem, however it's in Madrid and it's tucked away in a small road so probably it's a Hidden Architecture Gem. Worth every penny!!
You can see some parts of the city while walking on to bridge. Before the bridge starts, there is Calle de Bailen where you can walk by and see a nice view of the city. It is not crowded and is a nice quiet place.
Very nice architecture!
