Outstanding service. The waiters were very friendly and efficient. Had a ham and chicken “croqueta” which was tasty and also tried the garlic/egg soup which was something I would not order again (flavorful and unique but not for my specific tastes). Loved the rib eye steak (entrecôte they called it), perfectly grilled and delicious, the side potatoes were very good too. Great selection of wine by the glass. Definitely loved the cheese tart, it was one of the best dessert I have ever tried for sure. Prices were good for the portions and the quality of the food. Vintage ambience in a nice and cozy indoor venue. A place filled with lots of history. Not crowded. Bookings are recommended. It is definitely a must in Madrid!

I was here last weekend with a friend after receiving a recommendation to visit the restaurant for dinner. From the reservation through the phone I already knew that the service is excellent. The staff member on the phone was really friendly and spoke perfect English! We arrived and the waiter immediately took our jackets and also spoke perfect English. While ordering we received recommendations what to take best etc. Soon after ordering, the food came really fast. The food was amazing, the waiter poured more water into our glasses once he saw that they were almost empty. Me and my friend are new to Madrid and this is going to be the Number 1 go-to restaurant and I’ll always return and definitely recommend to friends when they go to Madrid! There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about the restaurant or service and I’m a really picky person when it comes to food and service! I’m really glad that I went here!

Our last night in Spain. What a way to end an unexpected 4 month stay during a global pandemic. You can certainly see why this restaurant has survived to become the oldest restaurant in the world. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was very old world and historic feeling. The food was exceptional (starters, entrees AND desserts!). Highly recommend you try it just for the experience. You won't be disappointed!

Oldest restaurant in the world, very traditional where the food is served in a very nice medieval ambience,

Well we booked a table here based on its reputation as the oldest restaurant in the world. I do not eat pork and neither my son or I are big meat eaters. That being said, we knew that someone had to have the roast suckling pig, so my son tried it and I had the lamb. Both dishes were excellent. We easily could have shared one main between the two of us as the portions were quite large. The lamb was absolutely heavenly and my son thoroughly enjoyed his roast suckling pig. I also enjoyed the 1/2 bottle of house red wine, what a great idea to serve half bottles! Due to COVID, the restaurant was at less than half capacity and the service and ambience was very relaxed. A great time to visit and a great restaurant that I hope is around for another 300 years!
