Excellent place to escape from the city. Beautiful view with an amazing church building. I wish they could let us take pictures inside the church.

Without political background, this place is beautiful. Environment is green, building structure similar to Vatican. Big hall painting and massive statues. Awesome!!

Very interesting and eye opening. Unique, like nothing you'll ever see.

Es un parque conmemorativo, una catedral y un monasterio de guerra muertos en la guerra civil española. Es un espacio para simpatizar con los lectores del Apocalipsis de la Basílica de la Cueva. It is a memorial park, a cathedral, and a monastery of war dead in the Spanish civil war. It is a space to sympathize with the readers of the Cave Basilica Apocalypse.

The biggest cross all over the world. Basilica just 2 m shorter than Saint Peter in Rome. Excavated in the rock. 36,000 fallen soldiers of both National and red armies of the civil war (1936-1939) including more than 60 canonised martyrs killed by the red hordes because of their faith. Benedictine monks pray every day for their souls and peace.

This is one of those stigmatic monuments of Spain that nobody mentions because of the wrong meaning it has, however it is well worth a visit! The mood in the abbey is just stunning when you enter that long black tunnel barely lit. At the end of it you'll find an altar where Franco the former dictator of Spain is buried right underneath. This is unfortunately a pilgrimage place for those that still today support Franco's dictatorial regime which is the reason why his body may soon be moved somewhere else. Nevertheless try to visit this place and get a grasp of its eerie mood as well as learning the history behind it. Again, in this place you can't take any photos which is a bit of a bummer...
