The Salinas area is in fact quite vast. Santa Pola itself is a large town and costal resort. The salt lakes used for salt production are the home for many wild birds including flamingos. Most people simply drive past these lakes on the N332, but they really are worth a visit. The beach area is lovely, with golden sands and a calm sea. There are numerous restaurants and shops close to the beach with many more in the town. Santa Pola like most of the coastline is a great place to holiday.

This watch tower has been renovated to near its former state. These towers where every 7 kilometers along the coast and fires where lit when the Burber pirates threatened the coast many years ago. Great for bird watchers too.
