Suzane ask me to visit this restaurant before leaving Madrid. Her friend Vanesa, mum and brothers were more than kind. The best beans "favada" I've ever had... for not mentioning the freshness of their cider!!

El Ñeru is one of the old times classics in Madrid. Now that we moved back to this lively city I was craving some of its tapas. I wasn’t disappointed when I learned that they still serve the same Cabrales cheese, cider infused chorizo and Spanish omelette. Although I am not a great fan of the restaurant, I love coming to El Ñeru for tapas at the bar. On the weekend it’s usually very busy and loud but if you’re patient and mingle with the locals (who don’t mind standing very close to one another while they enjoy a beer or some wine) you’ll be lucky to find a spot at the bar pretty soon. With every drink they offer a small bite to eat (a very popular custom in Spain. My favorite is creamy Cabrales cheese and cider chorizo. The good thing is you can try them all if you have enough drinks ;-) I would definitely recommend el Ñeru.
