Unique and special place in Galicia. This place is known for the people because here came many pilgrims to take one of the last steps in this route knows as "El camino de Santiago".

The Praza do Obradoiro is the main square of the Santiago de Compostela old town, although not placed exactly at the real centre. During the summer months you can expect to see the Praza crowded with pilgrims who have walked to the Cathedral from all over Spain and France. We visited in November and it was not busy and the Cathedral is undergoing a massive refurbishment with many areas closed off. Our guide gave us the exact measurements but let me just say that the Praza is very large.

Spurs okay it's pretty much a square the architecture is beautiful. It can get quite busy. It would have been nice if there was some seating or even some Greenery. Also I didn't see anywhere to throw my garbage.

Is the meeting point for the Pilgrims arriving to Santiago de Compostela. There isn't a formal welcoming from the City not the church only commerce at hand, that appears to me shortsighted, after all here is the reason of the journey.. joyful faces taking one more selfie, celebrating on a diversity of ways, anything is possible. So go with the flow and place no judgement on the euphoria of the moment.
