Unfortunately, our experience at CPN Maspalomas was once again confirmed. With very few exceptions, the majority of the staff at this office are the most rude and uneducated group of employees ever encountered, with no intention to provide customer service. These people are civil servants to support the citizens, not the other way round. Reading all the comments, it is clear that the problem at this office is rooted in the culture of the office and its management. Avoid the Maspalomas office whenever you can, it is worth a trip to another office in Las Palmas, if possible. These people reflect a bad image for the CNP, what a shame and disservice to the many helpful police officers elsewhere.

I had a really nice experience, when I got my NIE-nr. The process went by really fast, no problems at all. Nobody speaks english in there, so you have to try with your spanish. I speak spanish muy poquito, like a child, but they understood me and seemed like they appreciated my effort. Don't go in there and speak only English. You have to speak spanish or at least try.
My bag was stolen. I got help from the hotel to call an englishspeaking officer and made a report. I had to go to this police station within 48h with a reference number to receive a written report to send to my insurance company. Just waited 30 min on a otherwise busy day and was expedited by a very friendly police officer. Google translate is a must! Much to my surprise, two days later they had found both the thief and my bag. So grateful for these professional police officers!
I spent another two hours and twenty minutes in a queue today which is not good. However, I must say that the staff were very helpful and dealt with my issue. My issue was to replace my NIE number. I had to go to the bank to pay the 7.17 for the pleasure and then queue again for a little while. I tried to speak to them in my very limited Spanish only to be spoken back to in English. I was polite which I think helped but I do suggest that you take someone that speaks Spanish if possible, as they were not as helpful to someone who just said I only speak English in an abrupt way! You are in Spain! Thanks again to the staff.
What a joke, waiting 4 hours then they tell you they finished at 12 thank you bye. Next day they tell you at 11.20 there is more tickets to be give out that they finished. Once you get in the officer tells youtl that you dont have the right paper when he already looked at it once and said its ok before..absolute joke, worst service in the world
