When I started kitesurfing I drove around Tarifa and visited the biggest kite shops. By far the guys at Ozu were the most helpful. They had a great selection and gave me great discount as I was buying everything needed for the start. It has been 4 years now since that and I keep going back if I need anything: second hand kites, replacing the valve on my kite, new wetsuit, etc. They speak English and they give you honest opinion. They are the type of shop that not just wants to sell you staff and forget about you, they want happy customers who for sure will go back the next time. It's so difficult nowadays to find such shops...

Excellent classes for beginners. Kevin was very attentive and we felt we progressed fast with his teaching. Highly recommend.
Great service and store. Theres everything you may need to enjoy kite or windsurf. I got my kite board and the foil thanks to their advise.
Very good kite school! I had good time with the guys. Joan (manager) always organized my lesson to fit my schedule without any issue. Teacher very friendly and skilled (I can personally recommend Andoni). Equipment is new and the latest models and all sizes. Shop is also excellent offers everything what you need for water sports in Tarifa.
Are you coming from another country? You are probably very excited to try kitesurf. I ask you to please realize that when you go out on the water you are putting your life in the hands of the other. At a minimum, make sure he or she speaks the same language as you, fluently. Also ask for their full legal name and what exactly is their occupation during the off-season. If there is a last minute change of instructor, you may refuse the lesson. Look for little clues in behavior that should give u an idea of how seriously they are taking their job. In the worst case, you lose some money and find a different school, for example, Addict Kite School. Not trying to be a downer, but I was needlessly injured by a careless instructor. In the event of an accident, do you know the extent of liability Spanish law places on the instructor? Owner? And how that law has been applied recently in Andalucia and more specifically, Tarifa (which IMO, is basically Moroccan part of Spain). At the moment, there is an average of two deaths a week on the water and much higher during peak season. Who is held responsible and what is happening as a result is unknown. Good Luck and Stay Safe!
