I was admonished for walking my dog on Playa Playazo at around 7.30 am. The two policemen explained why I must not do it and were polite and non threatening. I was very impressed.

Came here to report a traffic accident. Fast answer and fast reply. The office is open only in the morning though. Make sure some one can translate in Spanish.
There is no parking anywhere in Nerja and the fine is 200 eur (100 EUR if paid within 20 days). They only target rented cars and foreign cars. We parked on a street where several locals have parked as well. We were the only ones fined. You then need yo go to local Tax Office where you wait roughly 30 min to be issued a receipt that you then take and pay at the local bank, where you need to wait again roughly 30 min. Local Tax Office closes at 13:30 (lazy) and local bank office closes at (12:30 - 14:30 lazy). Institutionalized bureaucracy and injust use against foreigners is everywhere.
I have today had my worst ever experience with Police anywhere in the world. I came to report a crime and the officer on the desk simply wasn't interested. He said that nobody in the Police Station could read or speak any English so we had to go and write a statement in Spanish.. Which I have now done I was absolutely disgusted given the nature and population of Nerja!
