Lovely hotel. Unfortunately , we were not aware that the restaurant would be closed due to covid. This meant having to order a Take away, which proved difficult to do on a foreign phone. Breakfast was fantastic , the waiter served everyone efficiently & rapidly by himself.

Excellent hotel, high quality, polite and helpful personnel.
four star hotel ? more like zero star. this is the only hotel I've ever been in the entire world they will refuse you to go to the lobby bathroom. nowhere in the world is like this. well done to receive 1 star ,because 0 is not possible.
The hotel has been refurbished and renamed from "The Monte Malaga" and is now Ilunion Málaga. A good location on the the sea front and within easy walking distance to shops and the main train station Malaga María Zambrano. About 20 minutes by taxi from the Malaga Airport. Excellent promenade for long walks in front of hotel. The Centro Historico Malaga is close by with attractions like The main attractions in this area are: Mount Gibralfaro, part of the Cordillera Penibética. At the top of the hill stands the Castle of Gibralfaro overlooking Málaga city and the Mediterranean Sea, and is connected by a walled corridor to the Alcazaba of Málaga The Cathedral or "La Manquita", meaning "The One-Armed Lady"., The Alcazaba, The Roman Theater, Plaza de la Constitucion, Plaza de la Merced and museums Glass and Crystal Museum, Carmen Thyssen Museum, Picasso Museum, Picasso Casa Natal Museum, Museum House of Dolls, Popular Arts Museum, Holy Week Museum, Wine Museum, Revello de Toro Museum, Flamenco Museum, Museo Interactivo de la Musica. There is plenty of nightlife around Calle Granada and adjacent streets. The Antigua Casa de la Guardia is located at the Alameda Principal. On Calle Granada is the famous restaurant and bar El Pimpi. It has a balcony facing the Roman Theater. There are many historic churches that one can visit in the historic center, besides the Cathedral such as the Church of Santiago, Sacred Heart Church, Church of Los Santos Martires, Church of San Agustin, Church of the Tabernacle.
The bed was fine. The breakfast was barely okay. I could live with a telephone in the toilet. But I cannot accept being refused access to the fitness after I clearly made a reservation. Go for something else
Pros: The room is good and got all the basic needs in a short stay. Hotel is easy to find and close to central station. Finally, more affordable price than nearby places is a great thing. Cons: Swimming pool temperature was a bit cold. Even the jacuzzi area was not warm, which was disappointing.
Had a Junior suite here, could do with updating as it's advertised as 4*. The rest of the hotel was beautiful in communal areas. Breakfast was good, happy to accommodate with ad-hoc requests. The view from our balcony was the port and out to sea, lovely city to visit update...tried to use the jacuzzi bath on the last night before leaving and it was broken, very disappointed as it was to relieve back pain and one of the reasons I upgraded as I have had one installed at home due to chronic pain. It had already needed the plug to be repaired as it wouldn't empty on the first day but I didn't put that in the review as they dealt with it very quickly
Very good Hotel! Clean and beautiful
