The city garden. Within you will find the Atis Tirma monument which was unveiled in 1981. Sculpted by Manuel Bethencourt Santana (1931-2012), which is not an Olympic tribute. It actually references the descendants of the amazing Amazigh who occupied the island before the arrival of the Spanish in the 15h century; the likes of Bentejui and Tasarte who preferred to leap to their deaths from their mountain hideaway rather than surrender to Castilian rule.
Lovely place for a break from the city - you’ll find plenty of benches where you can sit in the sun or in the shade depending on your preferences
Very nice surprise. I didn't know about this place before. Good for a short break and few pictures.
A nice classically laid out park, worth a stop. Interesting monument to the end of the Spanish conquest of the islands
Interesting monument, park is quite nice. Hotel behind it is gorgeous
