Great updated and renovated market. One of the main differences with this particular market versus others in Spain is that there is very few options for eating tapas and prepared food etc. Markets like those in Seville or Barcelona have a much livelier environment because they have open air eating and it offers a great atmosphere whereas this market is primarily meat and vegetables sold through various vendors which set up inside. The quality of their meats and vegetables vary by vendor but generally speaking you can find good quality cuts of beef and fresh vegetables.

I just love this Market. Plenty of options, from meat, to fish, cheese, fruits, vegetables, honey and even sweets. I already have some favorite stalls in there. Not to mention that some of these products are even cheaper than at the supermarket plus they taste better. And it seems like in 1978, the Central Market of Zaragoza was declared Historical National Monument and it was declared “Bien de Interés Cultural” in 1982. It’s worth a visit as a tourist but also if you live in Zaragoza you should consider doing your grocery shopping in there.

Pros: famous central market. Newly rennoved/constructed. Many shops. Cons: in general over priced, especially vegetables & fruits compared to other market's.
