It teaches us about new cultures and together through their food helps us bridge the gap between us. That is a good thing. Such was my mindset when I first learned about Vaughn Town and their volunteer project teaching English to Spanish students. It was early 2018 and by June I was on my way to Madrid and ultimately Avila for a week of laughter and teaching, but more importantly, learning. The students were working professionals and wanted to get to that next level of speaking English. We spoke nothing but English from breakfast to way past dinner and cocktails. It was an unforgettable experience. They gave me more than I could imagine; hopefully I gave them something in return. If you can do a VaughnTown program, do it. It will change you in ways I can’t begin to explain.

I love travel, not as a tourist but a wanderer learning about the culture of the country, rather than counting how many countries I have been to. Vaughan Town is an amazing way to learn about Spanish culture and day to day living in Spain, because we have a week with Spanish business men and women in a small town or facility where hopefully they will not hear any Spanish. It is total immersion English for them and we do NOT teach them. We are the facilitators for the Spaniards to speak English without fear or nervousness.....which they have but it disappears quickly. It is fun, a real adventure in many areas such as participating in the entertainment side and a wonderful way to make great friends. I have holidayed with many friends I have made doing \Vaughan Town\....8 weeks in all. Yes....I am one of the addicted ones. I am from New Zealand. The Anglos are from all English speaking countries as the need for business people to hear all accents is necessary in today's world. Do it! You won't regret it. I can't wait to go back.
This wonderful program is a great chance to fall in love with Spain and its people. I got an insight into the local life and culture, met a lot of interesting people, who are willing to share their experiences and knowledge. The atmosphere is really vibrant. The organizers are amazing. Besides, all the daily activities are organized for you, so all you need to do is enjoy gripping one-to-ones, group activities and showtime.
