The crypt below the cathedral supposed to be very beautiful but doesn’t talk to me. Can a crypt have windows??? Ok to visit but I found it a bit overrated. Just a donation as entrance fee which is a plus.

Beautiful and unique, countless number of columns. Regardless of being religious or not, this is so worth visiting; the architecture is simply fantastic.
Absolutely fantastic place. Recommended.
Incredible Neo-Roman architecture and art. Every section of the crypt is very detailed and you can see that many important figures have been buried there. On top of this, when I went it was quite empty, and everyone very silent and respectful to those who use the space as a place of worship
Be aware that this is a sacred place still in active use. It is not a museum or an exhibit. However, it is still a very beautiful place; a place of quiet contemplation. The architecture is stunning and its relevance in Spanish history undeniable. In some way it is a quiet oasis away from the bustling streets of Madrid. I find it well worth visiting, if not only to be reminded just how important those who have passed once were to so many.
