Spectacular views, but the state of conservation leaves something to be desired and the pines that cover the view have grown

We drove up to this view point after visiting the Escorial. The views were fantastic! We got lucky and it was a clear day. Although we arrived too late in the afternoon for a hike, there were a lot of trails and I hope to go back one day and make our way around. It's worth the drive up.

The view from here to the Royal Monastery is the one you see in professional photos of the building. We walked from the town centre taking about 40 minutes and it is mostly uphill going, steep in places, but all paved roads. You can drive most of the way but you then miss out on the other views as you walk or seeing & hearing the wild life.
