Factum Arte’s non-contact methodologies are having a growing impact on the world of conservation and are defining the role facsimiles play in in the protection of our cultural heritage. Carrying out a number of large scale projects, Factum Arte has gained a reputation for the uncompromising nature of its work and an obsessive commitment to pushing the boundaries that usually separate technology and craft skills. Factum Arte started working with Anish Kapoor, Boris Savelev and Marc Quinn from the time it was formed. 16 years later we are still working extensively with each of these artists. The works we have made for them and the innovations that have been achieved are all clear examples of the way Factum Arte works. Similar innovations have been developed a whole host of artists from around the world who have been attracted by Factum Arte’s unique approach to the transformation and mediation of information and the bridges we have constructed between new technologies and traditional artisanal skills.
