I like the idea, the message, and motive behind the entire institute and believe that its presence is essential in Madrid with the shared history of 800 years of Arabic presence in Iberian Peninsula. I visited the place during the third wave of covid-19, and like every other cultural center in such challenging era, was empty, and sad. However, the style of the building that simulates- in my eyes- “ Giralda” in Seville, the beauty of Arabic calligraphy here and there, and the temporary photographic exhibition, all worth the visit.. which is free of charge.

This is the cultural approach in Madrid where this house represents the Arab legacy and Intellectual in Spain. It often is busy with many activities. For details check website.
Not open when supposed to be. Outside Cafe nice kitchen closes at 4:30pm so we left. Center itself closed despite signs with hours and events announced (film, exhibit, etc). Really wanted to see Nakba exhibit. Beautiful building. Glad to see the king and queen (yuck) paid for this.... Update: today is an official holiday in Madrid....
Nice food, we had dinner on the terrace and we had a lovely night. We ordered some starters to share and I went for the moussaka, it was tasty and different. The price was a bit high but in the end you always pay for the location of a restaurant more than for the food...still was a nice place to have a special dinner.
I’m truly recommending!
