Truly amazing experience from the start. The staff are friendly and really helpful. The introduction concept is really well thought through and of course very tasty. All your senses are used in the 1st three “stations” before sitting in the dining room. After the exceptional meal you can visit the greenhouse above the restaurant and meet some nature if you’re lucky.

One of the best restaurants I have visited. The food and service are 10/10. Eneko Atxa's (5 Michelin stars) flagship restaurant. There's a cheaper restaurant on this site, too, for more casual dining, equally spectacular. Don't miss a visit if you are in Bilbao (need a car or taxi to get there, its in the outskirts, about 12 mins from airport or half hr from city), totally worth it. There is a sustainable building and veg farm to visit, too.

Azurmendi is an artform. It is an experience and not simply a meal. You travel throughout the resturant to enjoy your meal and it will be like nothing you have ever experienced. Not in the bragging sense, but as a comparison, we have dined at Alinea, Pujol, Quintonil, and many other Michelin starred resturaunts and have never experienced a meal quite like what we have experienced at Azurmendi. Azurmendi is ranked the 14th best resturant in the world and in some ways I see why some think this is an underrating. The meal is completly an adventure and the sommelier taught me more than I have ever learned from another individual. Not every dish was my favorite flavor but every dish was different than anything I have ever experienced. The meal is very expensive. It is not to say they have not earned this price tag, but this is a meal you save up for. We dined for lunch and it was still one of our most expensive meals ever. Arrive early so you can take in the entire resturant setting. Plan for a taxi if you plan to do the wine tasting with the meal. I really did not find it necessary and enjoyed discovering new wines with the sommelier instead.
