The two surgeries I had after my accident in January 2019 with complicated broken pelvis (open book), when I fall from the mountains in Almuñécar, were excellent and saved my mobility. Thanks to my great and very skillful doctors in Granada!!! The care at the station between and before and after the operations was in comparison to Germany or Holland less or better: not good at all. I don't want to get into details. You don't get rest, calm and sleep, but instead a lot of noise from outside your room including a terrible intercom system, and all that having a lot of pain, without possible moving in bed. It's almost impossible to recover fast. I was very happy to find the only one very dedicated young Spanish nurse who spoke English and helped me a lot communicating. Unfortunately I couldn't make use of her abilities a lot, because of the nurse management. Actually in general the personal is very nice, but I think under high stress. It's more the organisation and management that don't help you to recover faster. Otra vez muchas gracias a todos enfermas y doctores.

Unfortunately a relative was taken to accident and emergency and kept in overnight after developing food poisoning. I cannot fault the Spanish medical care from the paramedics to the observation ward. Obviously there was a language barrier but the Doctors we met appeared to speak sufficient English. Plus, Google translate came in handy. The hospital is brand new, clean and comfortable. Easily accessed from the centre of Granada on the number 4 bus. 1.40 per single. You can purchase the bus ticket on the bus at the hospital but elsewhere you have to pre purchase a ticket from the machines at the bus stops. The café at the hospital is amazing if you are stuck for something to eat and drink. They offer restaurant standard food at good prices.
