John is incredibly knowledgeable on all things related to guitars and Granada. He's also exceedingly polite and friendly. Before meeting John, I had read his book \The Granada School of Guitar-Makers.\ It can be hard to find, but definitely worth a read if you are a guitar geek like myself. John has done a great job of illustrating the history of guitar-making in Granada, as well as profiling all the builders currently working there. I stopped into his shop unannounced while I was visiting Granada to shop for a guitar, and he let me play a Torres copy he had just finished for a client. It was the best guitar I played in Granada, without exception. Unfortunately it was also two times my budget, and John has a one-year waiting list. But it was such a treat to chat with him and see his work. Granada is a small place, so I wound up bumping into John a couple times throughout my trip. My interactions with him added so much to my whole experience there. He even provided some helpful tips on where to go to see other guitars from other makers. I would love to have one of his guitars one day.
