The Torre Del Llamp is one of the many towers on the old Roman Walls of Girona, although it actually dates from the Carolingian period and is not Roman in origin. The name of the tower \Tower of the Lightning\ is in reference to the tower being named in honour of the Roman deity Jupiter. The entrance to the tower at the wall level still contains a recess with an image of Jupiter. Although this tower doesn't provide the same fantastic panoramic views of the city, the views are nevertheless still stunning. This tower is also one of the towers that's closest to the Basilica of Saint Filipe and the Cathedral of Girona.
