This is in appreciation of the excellent service provided by Claire McGuire who is a consular adviser in the NZ embassy in Madrid. my daughter and her partner were in Marbella recently and were desperately needed urgent medical attention on a Friday night. The emergency services were unresponsive due to the language barrier. Claire was on call 24/7 over the weekend and was contacted by myself from Auckland, NZ . She immediately reached them over the phone and did everything possible to meet their needs in order to make their stay comfortable. We are so impressed by the way Claire acted at the time and we are very grateful for the service provided by her. Claire McGuire is definitely an asset for the NZ consulate in Madrid.
This is just a thank you note to the extremely helpful staff at the NZ Embassy in Madrid, especially Raoul. My partner unfortunately had his passport (and credit card etc.) stolen in Granada just hours before we were to due take an internal flight to Barcelona, and onwards to Mallorca. Thanks to the efficient and sympathetic staff at the embassy (and their colleagues in the High Commission in London), we were able to get an emergency travel document issued in Madrid by 11AM the following day. This allowed us to \put the wheels back on\ our holiday and make it to Mallorca later that evening, against the odds I have to say. So thanks again to the wonderful staff at the embassy.
