Let's talk about good points first. Easy to find booth, fast service. Awesome car. We got almost new Toyota C-HR hybrid. Easy to find on the parking lot. Now about bad things. First, the lady had my reservation that clearly stated automatic transmission but still asked me if I mind manual. Why would I pay way more for automatic to get manual at the end? So yes, I told her that I want automatic. Then she started on the insurance, offering different full coverage packages. I kept telling her that I have CDW on my credit card insurance (insurance covering rental vehicle in case of collision) and I want to have third party liability insurance. She doesn't seem to understand what I want. That was really frustrating as she kept offering their protection (which I have already) for 300 something EURO and then full super coverage for 1000 something EURO. Then offered glass and tire insurance. It was so frustrating that I refused to have any coverage from them. Such a reputable company can have their employees to be more knowledgeable and have some printed options for insurance packages available or at least something that can be shown on the computer screen. Otherwise it feels like you are being scammed. Next thing, when we got to the car, it had some minor scratches and bend licence plate (which is common with rentals) and you are suppose to have someone to mark it and sign it so that you won't be held liable for it later. I marked it myself and went to the booth. Their lot is on one side of the parking lot and the booth is on the other side, so you have to walk far. And then when you get there, nobody was in the booth. Waited for 10 min and some worker just signed on that paper and let me go. Return was fast and efficient. Definitely needs some improvement in the workflow.

Carefully read all the small fonts and ask for the final rental amount with all payments. I was added 232 euros for \SUPER COVER\, which were not specified in the final invoice, but written off from my account.
Be aware that calling them 902 is very expensive. Shame on Hertz!
Hertz at Barcelona airport sold me a car that they described as \intermediate sports car\. What I got was entirely different. It was an old Audi A3 with a 1.4 engine, an odd smell and very basic equipment - the price was about the double per day compared to what I paid for really nice MB A200 with high end equipment in Zurich (which is supposed to be pretty expensive city). Not sure if an old Audi A3 fits even the \intermediate\ -part of the description, \sports car\ it doesn't, for sure. I'm absolutely sure, that you'll get better value from somewhere else in Barcelona, I would be rather cautious when hiring from Hertz overall in Barcelona / Spain. Some other Hertz offices I can warmly recommend (Munich, Finland, Zurich), but not this one.
Excellent customer service. The friendly staff helped us correct a mistake that we made on our reservation. Good selection of vehicles.
