I came to Spain to work with Dr. Pinal as a clinical fellow in 2013. I was reminiscing about my time with him when I came across a troubling google review. This has compelled me to write to describe my experiences. In the months that I spent with Dr. Pinal (and in the years since!), I have always found him to be fair, kind and compassionate with his patients, his medical team, and to the various medical learners who come to visit him. I sympathize very much with the patient who felt discriminated against. This is a terrible feeling, and would be upsetting for anybody. From what I know of Dr. Pinal, I do believe this is a very unfortunate misunderstanding. He simply does not harbour any such discriminatory views. I hope that by returning to see him, this misunderstanding can be resolved.

I have met lots of doctors in my life in many different countries but Dr Piñar was the most impressive and unforgettable. Explaining about my wrist condition, he said I was born with these wrists just as I was born with these eyes.(I am from one of the countries in Asia) He kindly made ‘SLANTED-EYE GESTURE’ TWICE during my approximately 10 mins appointment. Unbelievable and ridiculous thinking that this happens in the hospital appointment by the so-called highly educated person. I don’t know if he is a skilled doctor but it is obvious he is lack of respect towards his patients and knowledge of what racism means. He’d better learn how to treat people with a proper manner and respect. Otherwise, he might be able to fix the bones but break someone’s heart. Worst experience. Worst waste of 200 for 10min. Won’t step in that place again.

I am a hand surgeon practicing in an university hospital in Taiwan. My current position is the director of hand and microsurgery division. 6 years ago, I have a chance to learn and work with Dr. Piñal for several months. This is a wonderful experience to me. Not only I learn surgical skills from Dr. Piñal's unselfish teaching and sharing, but also his gracious care during my stay in Spain. So, it is a pity for me to see someone accused him as a racist. I deeply know Dr. Piñal is never never possible to be a racist. If you spend some time to talk with him (of course, more than 10 mins, maybe 15mins...). You will know he is a kind doctor and always trying to solve patient's problem with every effort! And, he is a man with sense of humor also....

I am a hand surgeon in Korea. I have known Dr. Pinal so long time. His attitude and endeavors for the patients are respectable from other surgeons in the world. I have seen very similar situations from many other doctors. Eventhough the doctor was not intentionally being offensive to the patient, the patient can feel very uncomfortable. In this case, the doctor should explain very honestly first, and then the patient may accept the sincerity. I hope the patient understood Dr. Pinal's sincerity. Patients make a good doctor and doctors learn new things everyday from the patients. There is no doubt Dr. Pinal is on of the best hand surgeon and one of the best doctor in the world.

Resultado espectacular. Grandes profesionales. No dudaríamos en recomendar al Dr. Piñal. Muchas gracias.
