Fascinating Museum with lots of exhibits about agriculture and everyday life in Galicia.

This open-air museum comprises a number of village buildings and holds a collection of items from the 19th and early 20th centuries that draws from all across Galicia. In my view, though much smaller than the Museu do Povo in Santiago, this museum complex is just as informative and it's not redundant or overwhelming. In other words, it's better value! Combine a visit with a hearty, homemade lunch at the museum's restaurant to get the most out of the experience (you must call to reserve a table at least one day before planning to go). We had a lovely local woman as our guide, and she made the experience more interesting. The museum caters to Spanish-, Galician- and Portuguese-speakers but they are also able to assist French-speakers. English is not really spoken by staff. The museum is a private family-led initiative and they do not get support from the state, though the service they provide to visitors and schoolchildren is really valuable. It's worth going to support what they are trying to do.
