Really great surf school. I learned an incredible amount and had a great time. The price-performance ratio is very good. Accommodation: There is a surf hostel, as well as a complex with villas - I tried both accommodations and liked both very much. Very clean (in the hostel a cleaning lady comes every few days) and well maintained. In the villa complex there is a large outdoor area for all villas together with barbecue and pool. The kitchen and common room in the hostel are well equipped and large. The rooms are very big!!! (I do not know so from other hostels) with partly single and partly bunk beds, large wardrobes, a large bathroom and a door into the garden where you can also hang your surf stuff. Everything is made with great attention to detail and seems new and well maintained (eg curtains, dishes, furniture). The location is very central but still quiet. The owner Joachim is very nice and always tries to find the best solution and helps with everything. The people were all in a good mood, the staff is super nice. Surf course: I went with the intermediate group. You always go where the best waves are.The equipment is good, well maintained and everything there is very well organized. Every now and then pictures are taken and then there is a photo analysis which is very instructive. The surf instructors are very nice. Especially David is a very very good surf instructor who is very patient, knows a lot, can explain everything in 100 different ways until you implement it. He is always in a good mood and motivates incredibly with his friendly nature. You can tell how much he enjoys his work. With him I had fun surfing and at the same time I could really improve. Outside of the course times, you can take surfing equipment for free. I don't know this from other surf schools and I really liked it! So you can also practice a bit by yourself. I can recommend the Sunwave surf school and its accommodations and will definitely come back. See you soon! :)

Great camp with great value for money when combining accommodations and classes. I took the intermediate classes and the instructors are really good (David and Noah) even so they are quite different in their teaching style. David very direct and Noah more calm. We always took softies for classes (for insurance reason I guess), but there will be a lot for you to learn anyway as you will certainly receive feedback on how to improve. Once a week we surfed and did a photo session, which was great to see your own mistakes (and take a souvenir home). The only improvement would be to do the review of the pictures on the same evening and not wait one week. I stayed in the hostel dorm. It is simple but clean (cleaned every 2nd day) and everything works fine in the kitchen/bathroom/... There is a great chill area outside with sunbeds and yoga mats. It could be great to have a few more stuff such as balance board, an old surfboard to practise popups or some workout equipment (maybe TRX or a few weights?). Thanks a lot to all the team for the stay! \\000/
Rationale behind the review: There are 2 groups : beginner and intermediate: sometimes 1 teacher is allocated to 10 students, not ideal. Beginner group: the instructor \Inna\ is a beginner herself, doesn't get into the water, the lesson is : take the board and repeat 3 random steps. We saw her surfing and her level is similar to an intermediate student. Wouldn't recommend her but since she's a beginner, can't really blame her. As a beginner myself, it was frustrating as I didn't see improvements. Later I decided to join other instructors within the intermediate group. Intermediate: instructors \Noah\ and \David\ both well experienced, David is a dedicated instructor, has an eye on you when you fall to give you immediate feedback, I highly recommend him. Noah is more reserved and spends his time enjoying the waves. The owner Joachim is a business person, he's interested in filling up the \class\ and camps to maximize profit. The prices on the website are misleading and do not reflect what you will pay, make sure you negotiate. Camps: I stayed in Calle Velero, a decent villa but needs a lot of maintenance (worn furnitures, very slim mattresses, lack of first Aid etc..) Overall I enjoyed my stay and had fun meeting interesting people, you should also be aware that this is a german school, I was the only non-german speaking in the beginner class so next time I'll fine tune my german language skills. I would have given it 3 stars but there are a lot improvements to make.
