Originally, I visited this place just to check out all turistic stops in Girona, but was amazed with what I found: it's not a film and celebrity museum, but a history museum about photography and motion pictures, with an extensive collection of relics going as far as the first shadow theatres in ancient China. Kids will love it.

Very informative! If you have more time in Girona then definitely try to make it. Shows the evolution of cinema. Sad the day I went the audio tour didn't work. It's three floors and a lot to read and see.

Brilliant experience. We went early on a weekday and there seemed to be only one other person in the whole place. Apparently the museum has won awards, which isn't surprising! You really get to experience the evolution of cinema, which makes it great for kids. It seems to stop abruptly around the 1950's however and we felt there was a lot to be said after that too, however that is pretty much my only criticism. Throughly recommended, one of the best things to do in Girona.

Amazing place! As a film fanatic and an aspiring writer I enjoyed this museum enormously. And it was a great way to show my 5 y.o. son where the films and animation come from. You will find a lot of optical illusions here, as well as the old cameras of all kinds. Also all the information inside the museum is very educating and entertaining, even without an audioguide. But this is not a place for people, who don't like history or expect something about modern movies. This is a museum for true fans of the art of cinema. Fantastic experience!
