This was the second visit to this zoo and it was much better the first time, 5 years ago. The elephant had died, the tigers looked ill and overall it was a bit depressing. There are some interesting animals there and some beautiful birds. Not a bad place to spend a few hours. Good parking close by, reasonable entrance fee and very close to the huge kid's park.
This zoo does amazing conservation work. They work hard with what they have to ensure that these RESCUE animals are given the best they can under the circumstances. They work to repopulate and the offspring are trained not to be dependent on humans so they can be released. Actually speak to the staff!! They love and care for their animals.
Quiet and pleasant place to walk around. Some attractions were not available (reptiles, aviary). Restaurant is closed currently. You may not see all the animals (e.g. Elephants can be seen only when outdoors).
The enclosures are far too small for the animals they have. The tigers, lions and bears in particular seem very cramped. I understand they have more space in the back out of sight but heir habitat-styled areas should be far larger.
