The bus station was not busy it was after lunch hours and I managed to buy bus tickets straightaway and the departure was like in 7 minutes so it worked quite well for me. At the ticket sales the staff didn’t speak English and at the bus as well don’t expect any English understanding or communication. As long as you know where you heading, like me, you will get away with it. The bus ride cost 2.56 one way pp.

Great atmosphere clean and safe
Good starting point for a visit to Marbella Old Town, Puerto Banus, the coast. Station definitely more third world in quality, but functional. It's easy to buy tickets 30 to 45 minutes before the bus departure. Bathrooms so so. wifi in little room near end. Some seats. No A/C. Lockers. Concession shop. Safe during day. From here you can take a local bus to Old Town Marbella(pay driver) and rent a bike. You can ride downhill to Port in 10 minutes. Not for inexperienced or older riders/tourists. You can have a bike delivered to station from Kamaga Bikes. Bicycle with lock and baske was 15 Euros. It is some distance (2.4km) with turns and steep down to Port (Puerto Deportivo) with no defined bike lanes. Allow 30 minutes for return up hill. Riding from Puerto Deportivo to Puerto Banus along coast is stunning and entertaining. Potable water available. Many breezes and food places/bathrooms/shops.
A bit rough around the edges late at night. The bus does not stop inside the plattform, didnt last night anyway, so you have to pay attention.
