Climb up to the top of El Teide! We got up at 1h30 at night (sea level) and left with the car at 2 o'clock to drive to the TF21 parking lot at the start of the Sendero de Montaña Blanca (/-2.200hm) from where our climb would start. At 3h30 there was no more parking available here and our driver took the car to the next parking (/- 800m walk) and walked back up to the starting point. We started our climb a 3h45 under a black night sky filled with starts and an almost full moon, 10km/h wind and about 15 C. Sergio guided us through the walking trail up the Volcano. He stopped regularly to explain the various specificities of the Volcanic landscape, fauna and flora. He occasionally made a joke and was always concerned for our wellbeing. He frequently asked how we were doing and reminded us to slow down our paces as we would gain a lot of height fast (first we increased from 0 to 2.200hm with the car and then from 2.200hm to 3.700hm on foot to the top). He also made sure there was enough freedom for the more trained people in our little team so they could go at faster pace while he stayed with the rest. He stopped often to have a drink and eat so we kept our energy levels up and made sure the group stayed together. The Teide has a vast landscape with a beautiful horizon and huge crater. You come across big chunks/rocks of lava/magma which are called Huevos del Teide, some beautiful flowers (blue and white in August) and animal life (spiders and others). It is a really lovely climb in a different environment as compared to the Alps. Definitely to put on your list when you love mountain climbs! Sergio is a very good guide. He takes into account everyone’s condition and interests. We really enjoyed our climb up to the top of Volcano El Teide! Thank you Sergio! Greetings Babs and Koen

Sergio was a fantastic guide he was very knowledgeable about the landscape the flora and fauna and very respectful to local farmers and encouraged us to engage with them I cant wait to to another hike. The picnic lunch supplied was just perfect and tasty
Sergio is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, speaking several languages. It's great fun to be on a walk with him, and so much less stressful than trying to go it alone. He knows lots about the area and is genuinely happy to be sharing his knowledge. He will tailor the walk to your own abilities and wishes.
Sergio is ‘The Mountain Man.’ More accurately, he is the man who knows volcanoes and mountains given the number of both on this amazing island. Tenerife is a force of nature and Sergio is a part of that. He offers a great combination of adventure and learning. The latter is important given the density of the flora and fauna here and it’s geographical position offering a combination of African plantation with plants local to the Himalayas for example. We chose the Panoramic Hike, and that it was! Sergio breezed across mountain tops like an athlete while the rest of us were less elegant but we made it (together with a beautiful collection of photos). We were rewarded with a delicious picnic at the peak. We then walked to a local village to savour some of the more typical cuisine for the area, followed by a steep canyon hike back to Earth. Sergio speaks a number of languages and is easy to understand, he also loves music, so you do get a sing along now and again - Bob Marley being one of the favourites (I think Satisfy My Soul is ept for this experience!). Sergio Walking Tours offers a range of adventures which the ‘Mountain Man’ has tried and tested a number of times. His experience and atheltism offers a wonderful experience for anyone looking for some adventure!! Highly recommended!!
Met Sergio wandelen is top! Op 1 augustus 2020 trokken we met z’n vieren s’nachts naar de top van de Teide, een onvergetelijke belevenis. Ook voor mij, 68 jaar jong, was het genieten en volkomen veilig. Onder de koplampen en het gekraak van de puimsteen op de Montaña Blanca liet Sergio ons de unieke flora op de vulkaan ontdekken . De fonkelende sterrenhemel, het ochtendgloren op de Teide top .. met Sergio ontdek je een ander Tenerife. Sterk aan te bevelen !
Gracias Sergio por éste día tan increíble!!! Tengo que decirte que eres un excelente guía de montaña de Tenerife y que además valoro enormemente tú interés en informar y explicar todo. Me ha gustado mucho tú preocupación en cuanto a las medidas de seguridad que se requieren ahora mismo y se agradece. Sin duda en cuanto pueda repetiré en otra ocasión. Gracias!!!!
