Simply awesome work of art. Most people just wander past it, possibly because they have seen it before. Most tourists click a photo or two and move on. I would recommend to take a few breaths and take photos of it from many different angles. It is quite enchanting when the sun is on descent.

The 52m long golden fish sculpture El Peix is one of the best known and most striking landmarks on Barcelona’s seafront. It’s gold coloured stainless steel surface shines under the Mediterranean sun and changes appearance depending on the angle of the sun and the current weather conditions. The fish statue was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The gold coloured steel structure serves as a canopy for the casino and restaurants which link the luxurious Hotel Arts to the seafront.
This is a great development with lots of F&B outlets. The focal point of this area is the Frank Gehry designed ‘golden fish’ canopy located centrally. However there are lots of other architectural elements to enjoy. This is a very nice area near the seafront to visit and adjoins a marina.
It looks more beautiful from distance but when come closer it looks ok. I was expecting something amazing from a close look as it’s Gehry’s work.
Great piece of work. And from there you will have many beautiful scenery of the beach.
