It’s a very cool place to hang out, however the museum itself is a bit small and the organization inside is not the best. Visit if you love modern arts but if you are somewhat interested maybe not the best place to start loving it.

The building architecture is cool, and there are many people skateboarding outside which was also very cool, however the art inside the museum didn't inspire me at all, and I find it hard to believe it would inspire other people. Perhaps if I had taken the time to read through everything I might have had a better experience, but I was carrying a heavy backpack that they made me wear in front (instead of on my back), so I almost felt rushed getting through the museum because I was uncomfortable. I went on a Sunday, and there was almost no one inside. If you go to Barcelona, I would recommend checking out another museum instead of this one... Quick recommendation, if you are in this area, check out Departure Coffee. I went there right after visiting the museum since it was only a couple minutes walk, and it was very relaxing (great to study as well).
We have visited the gallery for years and always enjoy the exhibitions. The first floor has a really great view of the square with skateboarders doing impressive tricks. A really memorable and worthwhile experience.
Nice and enjoyable, you can learn more about music if you are interested of course. Even though you are not, it can be a good and fun change for a weekend activity.
Really nicely laid out, excellent lighting. I really enjoyed visiting MACBA. If you purchase the Barcelona Museum Pass, this museum is included.
